Cov-eid 19 Celebration
By: Nur 'Inayah Hanif Salihudin (Additional Assignment Plus 1)
We started our day as early as 8 am in the morning to perform "takbir raya" followed by "solat raya berjemaah" with all my family members. Then, us granddaughters will collect "duit raya" from the family members. Surprisingly, I still have the chance to collect "duit raya" eventhough I am already 24 years old. The dishes that were served are all home-cooked by the wonderful chefs in the family, my mom, sisters and aunties. We had Nasi Impit, Lemang, Rendang Ayam, Kuah Kacang, Sambal Udang, Lodeh, Kari Ayam and varieties of Kuih Raya. I am drooling just by typing out all the delicious meals that were served. Due to the fact that we could not visit our relatives, we just stayed at home, took a nap and continue eating until the rest of the day.
However, this eid feels a little bit different but brought a big impact to our family. My brother and his wife could not come back and celebrate eid with us as they are doctors and had to serve as a frontliners to fight COVID-19. The house also felt a little bit quieter without my grandmother, who passed away last year. Al-fatihah. Sadly, a week after eid, my grandfather also has passed away. This year is a very sad year, indeed but I am grateful that my grandparents are now happier together right now, insyaAllah. May Allah bless their souls and grant them the highest jannah. Amin.
Al-fatihah to both of your grandparents. May Allah grant them the highest jannah, insyaAllah.
ReplyDeleteAmin, thank you so much for the dua.
