Monsoon rains hit South Asia, replacing millions of people

( source News Straits Times ) DHAKA:   Across southern Asia, more than four million people have been hit by major floods due to monsoon floods that destroyed homes and structures, drowning entire villages and forcing people to crouch on the roof in hopes of saving. The monsoon season usually June to September brings heavy rains, floods that are crucial for South Asia's agrarian economy. But in recent years, the monsoon season has brought more hurricanes and catastrophic floods, resulting in the internal displacement of millions of people in low-lying areas, especially in Bangladesh. Last year, at least 600 people were killed and more than 25 million were affected by the floods due to the monsoon rains that hit Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and Nepal, according to the UN. UiTM team manager Mustaza Ahmad said his team hopes to undergo training for seven to 10 days before M-Lleague returns. "We need to regain our momentum. PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Health (MOH) said the new Covid-19 cluster was detected at an engineering company in Kuching. Director General of Health, Dr. Noor Hisham Abdullah said, until 12 noon this afternoon, 2 positive cases of Covid-19 were reported involving this cluster. The first case of this cluster (case 8,694), was an employee of the company who received treatment at a medical center on July 9, 2020, when he suffered from respiratory symptoms. "He was found positive for Covid-19 on the same day," he said in his daily media statement today. The 33-year-old woman went to the lake to spend time with her child before drowning. Recently, the police revealed the results of the autopsy that had been carried out on the body. In a statement, the Ventura County Health Examination Office confirmed the body found on July 13 belonged to Naya Rivera. The cause of death was due to accidental drowning. Man who allegedly killed three cats in the washing machine detained in probe.

PETALING JAYA - A man accused of killing three cats by putting them in a washing machine at a laundromat in Kepong, Selangor has been remanded for four days. The Malaysian Veterinary Services Department (DVS) said the suspect would be remanded until Thursday (July 16) to facilitate the investigation into the incident on Sunday. "Cat carcasses have been sent to the Salak Tinggi Veterinary Laboratory for autopsy," the department said in a statement on Tuesday. His statement was released following the appearance of a video showing the suspect putting the three cats in the washing machine at 12.15am on Sunday. The video went viral on social media and drew angry comments. The statement said that the Selangor DVS enforcement officer arrested the suspect on Sunday. BURNOUT: How dangerous could it be?

The term burnout is commonly used in the context of fatigue at work but the latest findings from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) reveal that symptoms can also occur to a person if unable to perform normal daily routines. UKM Clinical Psychology and Behavioral Health Program Lecturer, Dr Shazli Ezzat Ghazali said, his party detected the symptoms of burnout through the negative effects of the environment experienced by students of institutions of higher learning (IPT). He said the special study was conducted on 159 respondents who were trapped on campus during the Movement Control Order (PKP) using tools developed according to the suitability of the situation.
