and Zachry's new son catches Maloney's eye.
KUALA
LUMPUR: This may be unrelated training but U-19 national coach Brad Maloney has
more than just "eye contact" with newcomers Adam Nadzmi Zamri and
Zachry Raiff Ghazie Yeoh.
In
the first week of their training at Wisma FAM for the AFC Under-19 Championship
in Uzbekistan in October, the duo was eye-catching enough to impress Maloney
Australia.
"Among
the newcomers, two or three new faces really impressed the coaching
staff," Maloney said today. "There are players like Adam and Zachry
and one or two others have been impressive."
He
said the addition of newcomers was good for the team as it would lead to
healthy competition for a place in the team.
"I
say no one is guaranteed a place in the team, so the new face that comes in
should be better than we had before."
Maloney
says Adam and Zachry have played well in their 35-man training team. "They
have a high level of skill with their technique, good football quality and
there are a lot of things with these people."
It
is understood that Wan Kuzri Wan Ahmad Kamal will attend training on Wednesday
after his quarantine after arriving from the US last week.
